THE BAD NEWS AND THE GOODS NEWS

Postby chriscolford » Tue May 27, 2003 3:48 pm

The bad news are:

1. You have to help out at three events per year, otherwise Monty will eat you; and
2. Most of the events requiring Addiscombe helpers this year have already taken place.

So, if you were thinking of doing your three events in November, things don't look too good.

The good news is that Agreeable help is required for SCCU events. I am down as "the organiser" in the email that went out earlier this year, but I am not the real organiser. I just have to organise the ACC volunteers. So get yourselves organised. All you have to do is pick up to three of the following events, and phone me to say that you will help. My phone numbers are 020 8239 7810 (h) and 07906 029893 (m).

It really makes a big difference if people volunteer well in advance. It's just a question of putting it in your diary. But it saves me from having to panic in the week leading up to the event. So. These are the events.

Sun 6 July Early. 50 mile Time Trial.
Sun 13 July. Not so early. Road Race.
Sun 27 July. Early. 100 mile Time Trial.
Sun 7 Sep. Early. 25 mile TT.

Apart from these four events, there are only the club and CDCA time trials that Dave Palmer is organising, plus the odd mountain bike, cyclo-cross, track and roller event. So it's a question of booking early to avoid disappointment (or something). I look forward to being overwhelmed with offers.

More good news for those you haven't done their duty yet.
Our Open 10 mile time trial is on Saturday 20th September.

I am the promoter and will need helpers for this. No getting out of bed at the crack of dawn required for this one. Just go on the normal clubrun but instead of going home from Charlwood go to the HQ near Dorking. Get your marshalling duties done and get some extra miles in at the same time - luvly jubly.

I can be contacted as follows:
020 83251330 (H).
0771 8059311 (M).

Cheers,
Jon

Can someone (Marco/Sylvan) put me down to help out at the Beastway event on 23/7.

I'll also help out at one of Dave P's time trials - what dates are these taking place ?

Thanks Dan. It's an 11am start at Edenbridge, Kent, so marshalls will need to be there at about 10am. I'll get in touch with more details nearer the time.

Chris, I think I've already been in touch about the 13th July, but if not, I'm available. I'm away until the 7th July but let me know what I can do.

Rob and David

Many thanks for volunteering. I will get in touch with both of you nearer the time. I normally get something from the event organiser about a week before, and will get in touch shortly after that. David can expect to hear from me in a week or so, therefore, and Rob in early September.

Thanks again

Chris

Hi Chris, Got the details about Sunday, will be there for 10. Will be riding there, do you know if there are any other ACC'ers marshalling and riding down?

I'm signed up to marshal - looking to either ride down or share a ride down. Please talk to me tomorrow at the club run and we can formulate a plan.

Cheers.

1 Marshall Required

Postby Robert » Mon Jul 28, 2003 2:15 pm

 The CDCA Open ten requires one more marshall, if you can help contact Dave Palmer on either david.palmer@aonconsulting.co.uk or tel no
07931 712623. Dave can fill you in on the details.
