RIDE LONDON 100

Postby Ronnie » Sun Aug 04, 2013 4:10 pm

Hi all

Well what a special day to be part of.
I have never been a fast as today, got linked up with some quick groups from the off and covered the 100 miles in 4Hrs 35 Min 30 Sec.
The weather was good, slight head wind on the way out, not many spectators until back in London.
Result.

Unbelievably amazingly fantastic day on the bike. Closed roads around all the london and surrey road, people waving flags to warn of road furniture, motorbike outriders, helicopter camera crews. Amazing, finished with the lead group in 4hr 6mins, super fast got dropped on Leith, chased like a banchee got caught by some other strong guys on box hill and we chased and got back to lead group with about 10 miles to go. Fantastic fun, a couple of silly crashes into the finish which meant could not go for the sprint, which was probably a good thing. Loved it really hope I get a place again for next year, superb.

Cheers

Hi Marek

Congratulations, what a great time and yes what an amazing day to be a cyclist.
I was very happy with my result what with having one stop at a Hub for a quick banana and drink top up.
Addiscombe should enter a team for next year, you never know.
