Redmon 25

Myself and Jonathon down for this today. Didn't realise there was another Addiscombe rider riding until I saw Jonathon heading towards the HQ after I had started. This event is usually held on a different course but due to roadworks it was held on the G25/54. My first time using the 'new' course. Really liked it. Much better than the slogs up Tolhill and Southwater.

Was off 63 so quite late and it was a pleasant temperature, bit blustery but mainly a side wind. First time I have raced with a computer on and with it showing the time. Quite interesting watching the time slip away

Started off steadily and was caught within the first 3 miles by 64. It was Chaarl Jordan, I have no idea why he as off on such a strange number, I thought he would have been seeded. Tried to keep it steady for the first lap and surprised myself to be keeping in up around the 25mph mark and above. Tried to push on the 2nd lap and managed to go a bit faster. Really enjoyed the finish nice downhill and a good bit of speed.

Got back to the HQ, had a bit of a wait for my time and eventually it was put up as a 1.00.02. Fastest time for 3 years so pleased. Got held up at a couple of roundabouts so lost time there, reminded me it's not just the slowing its trying to get going again in a stupidly high gear

Got 2 more events on there this month so will see how they go! I will leave it to Jonathon to post his time if he wishes.

It was won by John Dewey with a 51.20.

First ever 25 TT, and the weather was good, was aiming for the ACC gold standard 59:00 (or at the very least under an hour), set off a bit to hard but there was a good tail wind for sections so could keep up a high average speed. The G25/54 course is a bit of death by roundabouts but only got held up a couple of times.

Managed to finish strongly with a time of 59:29 so am looking forward to getting under 59:00 in the ACC 25 in a couple of weeks.
