Biddenden 3/4

Postby Marek » Mon May 11, 2015 10:22 pm

On Sunday 6 hardy ACC turned up to race the Biddenden circuit, a circuit that is favoured by Paul H due to a past win. Dave K, Paul H, Jonathan and myself all had a few goes at trying to get off the front.

We raced hard, pretty much all of us had a go at getting off the front of the peleton but nothing was going to stick. The course is relatively flat and the weather was warm and felt like a tailwind on most of the course, so keeping up a high speed in the peleton was relatively easy. One of our newbie 4th cat riders found it tough though, but he will be back after a bit more training (can't remember your name, sorry!!!).

Quite a negative race with a number of riders just banging out really high tempo on front of peleton and not trying to break off and join attempted breakaways, I think there were a number of inexperienced racers that were happy to just get around and battle it out in the sprint.

I think Jonathan P was the only one of the team that really went for it in the sprint, the rest of us kept out of the way and rolled in towards the rear of the peleton.

Good weather and nice to be back racing, just a shame we couldn't get anything to stick in the breakaway.

Cheers

Good write up.

Matt was attempting the sprint as well but got caught behind anther rider and swamped about 1k from the finish.

According to the BC website it appears I managed to come in 9th, so at least we came away with one point.

Well done Jonathan, you are doing well in picking up a few cheeky points here and there.

Cheers
