Surrey League RR - Seale

Just a short 9 lap - 35 mile race as we started at 10:30am today for some reason. The circuit has a couple of small drags, but nothing much in the way of hills.

Nothing much happened for the first couple of laps, then just after one of the climbs it all kicked off. 2 guys got a 5 second gap, I decided to try and bridge, two other guys joined in and suddenly we had 5 guys in a break with 10 seconds on the bunch.

Quickly started to work together and started pulling out a lead, i've been involved in smoother chain gangs in my life but we just about managed to keep it together until the final lap. By then we had a minute on the bunch so could afford to muck about. The final uphill sprint was kicked off by the eventual winner from Dulwich Paragon, didn't have the legs to follow it but hung on to finnish 5th. Dave Kennett finished safely in the pack.

Well done Jon! Good result and a long time coming.

You've had your fair share of bad luck this season, but the legs are clearly there.
