hi there, new to these forums and i've read your info on posting piucs but am not sure how to go about viewing pics posted by others...should there be a link to the pics in the post from the person who posted them? or is there a general area where all the links to pics canbe found?
cheers,
rich

The pics when put in a post should appear in that post as a picture. Depending on your settings or how you view the forum you may not see them, some phones may not show them and if it's at work then it can depend on their safety settings. At work I can't see a lot of pictures that get put on here as the site they are hosted on (e.g. flickr) comes under a "personal storage" heading and our company blocks those sites.

Register with real name as username please!

When you register for our forum, please ensure you use your real name, or at least something that will identify you easily to ALL members of ACC:

e.g Joe Bloggs, Joe B, JoeB123

We get many automated requests to join for spamming purposes every day, and using your real name helps us to identify genuine users. Registration requests which don't follow this may be deleted without notification - Marco/Elliot

User pictures (aka avatars)

If you want to put a picture next to your name please ensure it is a clear picture of YOURSELF. Anything else will be removed - Marco

Spammers

Some of you may have noticed recently that along with access problems the site is attracting a lot of unwelcome attention from sites presently based in either the Ukraine or the US.

Do not under any circumstances click on the links to websites that might be listed under the username. The same applies to emailing them

At the moment anybody or anything can access the forum. This is under review and may well be changed in the future. Till then ignore usernames such ones that are a random collection of letter and numeric characters. Cheers - Sean

Times shown against forum posts

The forum software does not automatically correct for British Summer Time, so if you want to make sure you see the correct time against forum posts when the clocks go forward/back, click on User Control Panel up there ^ at top left of page (you'll need to be logged in to see this) select "Board Preferences" tab, and change the entry "Summer Time/DST is in effect" as appropriate

When the clocks go back in october just reset that value to GMT

Gents, are the above rules still current?! if so, I need to change my profile name and pic!? Not a problem if that is the case BTW :D . Please let me know either way< thanks, John

Based on the other topics on this, your picture should be one where you are recognisable or no picture, so yes unless you are diego maradona i think it needs changed. With respects to your name Argy is ok if that is how you are usually referred to as. If you do need to change your name you will have to contact somebody like Marco to do it, as you cannot do it yourself.

I'm pretty sure that, unlike most email systems, PMs stay in the outbox until they've been read by the recipient, when they move to the sent items folder?
