5k Running times

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Back on the topic of 5k times.......

I did my first run since well before the christmas ice last week - A 5k affair completed in around 24 mins. Not fast but OK with only a small knee twinge about half way.

Definatly felt better than the 5k in my recent sprint tri about a month ago which was done in moe than 26 mins and was complete agony !!!

I hope to be on the CR this weekend too for the first time in 10 weeks (i think), provided the couple of commutes i plan doing this week dont cause too much pain

I got it online for £13 or £14, let me know if you want to buy mine for £10, as I'm planning to buy one of those sticks instead. I think I've used it three times

As I didn't manage to get to the TT this week I thought I'd do a 5k instead * Similiar effort timewise I thought.
Did two in the end. Wednesday easy one with a friend from work where we ran 25 something and a 19.26 today.

Today was pretty painful in parts. There was a moment when I felt could go a little faster :D but times when I really wanted to stop
When I finished I thought I was going to see this mornings Gold Blend coffee on the pavement but thankfully not.

Have had no beers since Sunday and have eaten well. I'm thinking about getting a garmin watch...maybe a 405 or something.
* I better go and measure that distance on mapmyrun just one more time.

I did 22.13 this week and felt pretty comfortable

19 is a good time there ed. That's about what I would like in a couple of months.

The advice of if you want to run fast you've got to run faster seems to be paying off

there are definately big improvements in my time to be made using this philosophy
