Herne Hill Saturday training

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Herne Hill Saturday training

Postby Jon H » Tue Mar 16, 2004 5:52 pm

Apparently the training sessions at Herne Hill on Saturday mornings have started again. 9.00am for novices, 10.30 for the rest.
I'm planning on going this week if the weather looks OK. Anyone else?

Hi my first posting (here at least). I might go along as well, is it definite as I checked the what's on section of the friends of herne hill velodrome website and no news, only old news relating to the 2003 season.

I spoke to Bill Wright last week who runs the track and it is definitely open for business.

The real risk (it being an outdoor track) is the weather. If the track is wet you can't ride.

I wouldn't fancy chances for tomorrow looking out the window and listening to the forecast, but if it's dry then training should be on.

cool!

thought i would mention that slow people are catered for too ... you can turn up for the novice session (9am?) with no track experience whatsoever, always a laugh and only 8 quid I think for session inc. hire

Well I gambled, it wasnt that wet in Sutton. But in HH!. Wellthe track isnt clean at the momen so when it gets wet its slippy. So I showed and left. There goes Saturday morning and a train fare. Bring on the roof, not that I'll be around to enjoy it.
There were some very unusaual and beautiful leaf patterns up on the banking though, could have won the Turner prize!!

See you there this Saturday.

Zabel, my hero. My lord!!!!!!!!

It was wet when I woke up but by 10 it looked to be drying up, so I gambled and went too. Then went home and spent the rest of the day doing DIY.
