Physio?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Physio?

Postby andrew_phillips » Sat Nov 07, 2009 6:11 pm

Can anyone recommend a good, reasonably priced physio? I have been suffering with what I suspect is achilles tendonitis for the last two weeks - have got a rubbing of the tendon against the surrounding tissue and was swollen initially although that has mostly subsided. Have been off the bike for two weeks which is hugely irritating but problem got worse again when I tried a gentle ride on the flat yesterday. Reckon its because I have switched to mountain biking mainly for the winter and could be the change in position and not warming up properly.
Anyway, any details of physios would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Andrew

Quite probably a bit of a trek (assuming you're Croydon-based) but Graham Anderson at Balance in Clapham is very good...

He works at Cyclefit every Wednesday morning so knows all about bikes

I have heard good things about Anne Dickens. She is a chartered Physio and specialises in cycling specific niggles/injuries etc In addtion to which she is an XC marathon racer herself. She works from both London and Oxted. Telephone 01883 714478.

Let me know how you get on. :D
