B standard chaingang ?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Four of us out last night. Me, Matt Chapman, Ben and Lee.

We hung around CSS for any late arrivals until 7.40 then left for Gatwick.
The weather was relatively mild and pretty dry so there was no chance of another icegate :D

Nice steady pace, Matt doing most of the work with me chipping in as much as I can.
Lee was falling off the back a few times so we tried ease off and let him get back on. Not sure if you need to take your seat up mate but keep at it.

We turned round a bit early skipping the dual carriageway part and headed back.
Good work out for me and I hope to do a few more of these before the season starts.

Despite being left behind on numerous occasions, that is the fastest I have ever riden as my lungs will testify. The other three could have cycled off into the night but were good enough to stop every now and then to let me catch up. I expect that is the essence of a club run. Apart from over heating lungs and dropping my bowels somewhere on the Redhill drag I thoroughly enjoyed the ride . The goal is by the end of the year to stay within eyesight of these fellas.

Any one actually doing it tonight?

I'm thinking probably not a good idea to go out today all things considered...

I think there's quite a high chance of ice. And I've got a headache and a sore throat. And it's cold. And I'm a wuss.

[quote="Phil Hawkes"]I think there's quite a high chance of ice.

I'm in Berlin at the moment and they have had snow for about a month now and its currently sitting at about a foot of settled snow. However all roads, cycle paths (which there are many) and public transport are all operating normally. Lots of salt everywhere, but no delays and defo no excuse for not getting on the bike. And before you ask, no I am not thinking of moving to Berlin :) . Just very impressed with the amount of cyclist out even at -8 degrees.

It's not that I wouldn't be out on my bike because of the weather, it's the riding at speed in this weather that worries me...

I mean, are they chainganging it out in Berlin? And what are the roads like outside the city??

I plan to be out Saturday, just taking it easy - might even do the lanes...

No chinganging here, just commuting. All roads seem to be clear, but you are right about tonight as its not worth it and summer is around the corner and you dont want unnecessary injuries
