DP Beginners chaingang

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

No reason there can't be any number of mid week runs if someone says they're going and a couple do it then it will take off from there once it becomes a regular fixture. Huw used to do a hilly Wednesday one in the summer when the evenings were light, same route each week, it's in the routes section.

Well, I had suggested that in the lighter evenings we could move the chaingang to Huw's Box Hill route in the previous discussions on an ACC chaingang.

Bridget's doing a ride tonight round Box Hill. Just a bit short notice.

[quote="LeeS"]I was keen on the B-CG but on two occasions I turned up and nobody else did so I went on a hilly ride to Titsey and Bug Hill and to be honest I got more out of that than going down to Gatwick - usually on my own. There is a bit of monotony with the A23 and maybe chaingangs are not the be all and end all of getting fit. A good ride around the hills ( yes Anthony hills) with no traffic lights and less vehicles is just as helpful.

I agree with you Lee. The sound of a CG down the A23 doesn't enthuse me at all, but to get folks out for a midweek ride can be taken up by anyone and all it takes is for a regular post on the forum and I am sure more will turn up as the weather improves and the evenings get longer.

Didn't have time to go to this. Ended up doing a blast on my own instead.
