What training did you do today?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Toks

glad to hear that you are still seeing Britney-or have you dumped her for a younger, more technical model?

No SufferFest for me just a nice steady 1hr45m on the rollers this morning. The spikes are just very brief hard efforts. One thing they do is stop me getting bored.

On the winter bike (Ribble). Don't think the mudguards & lights were really necessary. :D

And no, I didn't fall off half an hour in  - was getting too toasty so had to stop and open the kitchen door a bit more.

2 x 20 at 254w on rollers at 100rpm cadence - almost did fall off at 54mins as a passing cat wandered dangerously close to the rear wheel :-)

Got back on the rollers today after the turbo, on the TT bike and each power interval I was on the aerobars.

OMG the rollers feel so much nicer than the turbo :D :D and seem to offer more than enough resistance for training.

It was -6°C at 8am this morning  , so I really didn't fancy heading out to meet others for a ride on the road.

Instead I did a tempo session with a series of hard 20sec efforts on the rollers.

Good turbo session today, legs starting to feel good. Focusing on power and sprinting with short all out effort bursts.

500 metre swim

Might not sound like much but is the first swim I've done in 3.5 months since my knee op

A 500m swim sounds like a hell of a lot to me.

I suppose its all relative

Like you i couldnt swim a couple of years ago and wouldnt have dreamt of making a comment like that but for people that can swim it probably sounds a bit pathetic.

Another 500m today and my knee doesnt seem to be suffering too bad :D

Swimming 500m can be a piece of piss, depending on who's been doing what in the pool
