What training did you do today?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

What training did you do today?

Yes a chance for you to reveal what effort no matter how big or small you made today to get fitter. After two weeks of no bike riding, in fact no exercise bar walking to my car I decided on some gentle exercise. I began by struggling through 60 sit ups and 50 pressups, not all in one sitting of course. Then I went out for a ride. One of my brothers mates loaned me his Canondale Hybrid and I went to check out the streets of San Francisco on two wheels. Great fun, lots of cyclist here on single speeds. I managed to get myself up to Golden Gate Park, a bit like Richmond Park its the Cycling Mecca for SF cyclists - roads are smoother but it's not as big.Tomorrow I'll get out with the Mission Cycling Club for 50-60miles, their rides leave approximately 5mins from my brothers apartment. I gotta put ACC on the Californian Cycling map

Toks did you get out to Marin? Nice riding there, very scenic, although getting over the GG bridge footpath is a bit of a hassle. Hired an MTB last year and rode along the trails up to Muir Beach, then back on the road via Mill Valley.

Hi Elliott, I was gonna write a report but then i found some video footage of the Golden Gate Crossing which was a ride I did at least six times, once with Mission Cycling and at least a handful of times by myself. Once we crossed the bridge I got out to Sausalido, Tiburon and Paradise Drive. San Fransico is a fantastic place to visit or live, and most importantly there is lots of great riding to be done :D 8)

I sessioned Barry Knows Best on Holmbury Hill five times yesterday.

A trail of two half's, working with the numerous wet roots in the first section then concentrating on carrying speed through the big berms and working the jumps on the second. :D

Great fun but my left wrist was not so keen!

4 laps of Richmond Park, which including the ride there and back made 48 miserable wet miles today :x I think I saw an Addiscombe rider arriving just as I left, sorry for not saying "Hello". In my slightly fatigued drenched state it took me a few seconds to register the face. Was it you Ed? Nice to hear what you guys are doing too - Paul, Jamie and Sean. :D
PS How ya getting on with the Rollers Paul?

After 2 or 3 weeks just poodling around on my bike. I thought it was about time I started some serious training especially as it is November already.

From Sutton to Box Hill taking in Epsom Downs, Hedley and Little Switzerland, returning via Chipstead Valley.

Thirty two miles in just over 2 hours on a fairly hilly route.

This will be the mainstay on my winter training along with Richmond Park and the Saturday jolly up.

Looking forward to seeing you guys on the road sometime.
