Power Tap ?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Power Tap ?

Postby Rob W » Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:11 pm

I was using my PT today and there seems to be a problem with the watts they are coming out way to high.I was doing 1300 watts and i was only cruising. When the bike is not moving it is going back to 0 as it should do.So has anyone got any ideas what this could be,and im sure its not a sudden bit of forum, which would have been nice on Saturday.

Agree with DK. Details of how to "Zero Torque" on page 15 of this document.

Cheers for the info.I hope it works,i have a feeling that its more than zeroing the torque. As when the bike is stationary the reading is zero. But i`ll give it a go tomorrow.Cheers

If that fails, in time-honoured helpline fashion, try turning it off and on again - take the batteries out of the computer unit (and leave them out for 5 minutes) to try & reset things completely?

You may well need to "re-learn" your PT unit & HR strap after that which can take a little while - the LYC user-interface isn't the best

If the zeroing doesn't work then I'll try the batteries thing. It's annoying all this cause it was working fine last week.

If the zero doesn't work and you take out the battery, re-learn by downloading from PowerAgent menu if you use that, Tools, Configure Device...
