Sunday training ride - 12/10/03

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Sunday training ride - 12/10/03

Postby Daren L » Sat Oct 04, 2003 7:52 pm

I am going to be riding to Ditchling Beacon, and hopefully back, next Sunday. I won't be breaking any speed records, so if anyone is up for their first winter training ride, I'll be leaving Coulsdon South at 9:00; rain or shine. Oh I love the balmy British weather.
Role on the Real World Cup. An All Black v Wales final.

Thanks for yesterday guys, was fun until I blew! (Un)fortunately pride meant that I wasn't going to jump on a train home, so grovelled back to Sydenham. Still did it in 5 hours 17 mins though (16 mph average). Hope to last longer next time.

Excellent ride to Ditchling and back. I only think you blew David because you were riding on a semi flat after your puncture.

I pumped it up ok but think I may have a slow puncture, will have to check. Regarding the conversation we had at the top of DB, it doesn't feature on this website: http://www.salite.ch/inghilterra.htm though someone said it was a cat 4 climb.

I don't know what category it is, but that does not matter, its a big hill and thats enough for me. Most people seem to know DB when you talk about it, so if you just say that you have climbed one of the highest peaks in the South East of England, along with PANTANI, I am sure people will be impressed. Just don't mention the fact that you had to crawl home after.

Cheers

Marek....
