Living off the fat of the land

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

No I agree with Mark, catchee it is. But it is also definitely softly, softly.

I also like...' walk softly and carry a big stick'.

Wonder what that reaaly means? It is probably the opposite of what I do. Maybe I just like the idea of it.

Have you stopped being ravenously hungry yet, Mark and Dan? I've just done 1.5 hours lbp-20 on 2 thirds of a bottle of half strength goo. I started at 5.45 but I hadn't eaten since 2.15 pm.

I believe it means don't start trouble but if someone else does make sure you're the winner.

Talking of winners.

Had some quality news from the doctors last night..
My Cholesterol 2 months ago was a mind blowing 7.4mmol/l  , I had even beat Sean's total!!
So I was put on Statin, yep the one that has been in the news this week.

Drum roll please......... It's now 4.1mmol/l with a lovely balance of the good HDL (High-density lipoprotein).
Gobsmacked at how quick that came down.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Far be it from me to contribute anything useful to a training thread, but Huw's comments strike a chord.

Within a year of starting cycling 'properly' (shut up at the back, those of you still think I don't) I shed about 10kg, but stayed the same size. After that initial loss, my weight has been much the same for the last four or five years. But in that time I have dropped a size in trousers, jackets and even ACC kit. Whenever I see people I haven't seen for a few months they always ask if I have lost weight - which I haven't.

So, there you go - same weight, different shape.
