Training Camp South of France for the poor

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Training Camp South of France for the poor

Postby Paul H » Thu Jan 29, 2009 1:22 pm

Sylv, Stu and myself are planning to go to Frejus in Provence for a training camp week beginning 2 May.

The terrain is a combination of large hills/mountains up to 5 miles long and flatish coastal roads to places like Cannes and St Tropez. We are going to drive there and stop off at Mt Ventoux on the way back but you can fly to Nice.

The accomodation is my friend's mobile home which is free so you just have to pay for travel and some dodgy French camping tax of a few euros a day.

If anybody is interested in joining us, PM me.

This should be good. I used to go holidaying there, but have never cycled. I have gone down Ventoux once though, off road!

Paul please can we do Theo Bos style motor-pacing one day :-)

Stu the French air should do you a world of good

Would be great to have a few more

At least you will have an excuse for not doing well.

You've obviously never been to St Tropez or Cannes Kieran

It's not your average Majorca budget resort we'll be riding with the jet-set 8)

Just spoke to Angus MacAlister who says he is on a training camp in Sisteron at the same time which is not too far so agreed we will meet up for a couple of days for a ride.
