Snow, have ya done todays Turbo Session yet?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

MP3 player Check
Towel for bike. Check.
Large Fan. Check
Motivated and Ready. Hmm (a little scared to be honest)
Here's how it went

10 mins warm up starting from 53/21
Quick sip of water
20 mins @ 25 mile TT pace/intensity/power in 53/17
8 minutes recvovery break - bloody tough, siped a coke and then fruit tea  and put on best of Cycling Weekly tour DVD
15 mins @ close 25 mile TT pace/intensity/power
5 min break (more drinking and sent text message to my boss)
20 mins @ close to 25 mile TT pace/intensity/power
Phew! five mins warm down

How did yours go?

Yeah fair point, admittedly I haven't actually done a 25. However I know how hard I can push myself for 60-70 mins since thats made up the bulk of my training for the last 3-4 years. :D

That seems a little excessive. I couldn`t get anywhere near that. 2x20 kills me and I need two days of recovery after that.

All I did was 5 x 5 mins steady, 5mins at near threshold. 70mins all told. I`ll do an hr steady tomorrow, day off Weds the 5 x 4 at vo2 max on Thurs, probably a rec spin on Fri and 3 hrs or so on Sat if it aint snowing.

Seems to be working slowly but surely, but we`ll find out in a couple of months time.

But would you do 60 or 70 minutes for a 25  , If it was 70mins for a 2nd cat then you'd have some explaining to do  . Come on join the dark side for a day :P .

Hi Terry, a couple of quotes from Dr Andrew Coggan the author of "racing and training with a power meter" All you can do is alls you can do; the more you train the more you can train. Don't forget I've been doing these kind of workouts for quite a while and only the first inteval was bang on in terms of 1hr TT pace. You might find your capable of a bit more fella, but you've gotto be prepared to jump of the edge sometimes. And Oi get those 5 x 5's up to threshold at least mate  :D

Yeah I do plan to ride a 25 maybe this year once a decent amount of points have been secured.

Hey Terry, you could always turn the intensity down a notch for your 2 x 20's and complete a second set in the week. It doesn't have to be nailed on TT pace :D

Haha, very good Grahame.

Rollers on the other hand, done my scheduled 45mins (Recovery ride Toks!).

Desperately hoping the snow doesn't hang around too long as I don't really want to spend the entire week on the rollers...
