Buying Training Rollers

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Buying Training Rollers

Postby BrendanM » Mon Jan 19, 2004 9:45 pm

I've seen magazine reviews for Turbo trainers but very few for Rollers.
Can anyone recommend a good and if possible inexpensive make and model of roller?

Thanks

The best rollers around are the new Parabolic Elite Rollers, about £120 from Cycles Dauphins. Ribble cycles do cheaper ones about £80, see back of Cycling Weekly for Ribble.

Best bet would be a turbo trainer as it as it's easier use, no chance of falling off! Most are quiet and provide levels of resistance, something not available on a roller. Again, Elite do some top turbo's, very quiet, easy to use levels of resistance and digital display for power, heart rate, speed, etc
