Who d'ya really wanna beat this year?

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Who d'ya really wanna beat this year?

He gave me a bit of a mouthful because I wouldn't tow him up to a break in our last VET'S race together - so for me its gotta be the fella that won this race

AH HA HA HA!!

Thats the little f****r I had a bit of a ''chat'' with shall we say, last September.

He was in my 7 man break away in the Martin Newell Memorial Race. He was trying to sit on as much as poss, even with 20miles to go. Though after I gave him what for, he started working, albeit making a big drama of it. I bet he sat in on that break yesterday too.

Low and behold he was the guy to attack on the final climb with 500m to go. But... I dragged the crafty Columbian back and cruised past him to take the victory... HA!

So yeah, I've ticked him off my list already Toks, bigger fish to fry you know...

Yeah I was so glad when I read that Adam...To be honest with you he's probably stronger than me but he's real crafty wingey so and so (1st cat now I think?), beating him would give me such a good feeling. It won't become an obsession though but if the opportunity arises I'll go for it. Once VET races start in mid April (for me at least) I'll be seeing him every second Wednesday at Hillingdon. It tended to be me him, Colin Roshier and 4-5 others in all the significant breaks so I'm sure we'll be talking again soon. :D

PS I hope to see you up there for some of these Anthony :D Remember forty some things can still kick arse! 8)

Ditto.
Although whenever I do the same race as the other Andrew Green I always see how he's done. He's normally beaten me by a little bit but I've had him ( )once or twice. First encounter of the year is on Sunday which with my current level of fitness I expect to be 1-0 down after :( .

hey toks is that one of the columbians who raced at CP last year? When I finally got my last few points for 3rd cat one of them was in the race, not very friendly! I jumped to a small break of 2 and I ended up towing him and another around on the last 2 laps as I just needed to keep away from the bunch to get enough points needless to say the 2 others both sprinted past me at the finish line.

Saw them recently around CP training on a Saturday.

Oh, an't answer your question as I don't even know what I want to do this year! Racing, yes, but at Herne Hill or CP, don't know.
