Women's Chaingang: Wednesday's

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

Dad talked me out of trying this last year coz he said it would be too fast for me. (He was probably right). I think they were running it more along the lines of a slower chain gang though, not specifically for women. They have the route posted on their website, I think it starts in Elmers End.

I can't go unfortunately coz of pilates though I would have liked to, assuming the dulwich girls are happy to have other clubs along!

Looking on the DP forum the average speed seem to be around 18/19mph which if you can ride at the front of the 17s for a length of time should just be managable. Apparently men are also allowed to do the ride.

The Wednesday chaingang is currently being revamped as the women's chain gang. This essentially will mirror what goes on at the men's chaingangs on Tuesdays and Thursday nights.

It's a training ride that is intended to run at 18/19mph.

It's run by Dulwich Paragon but is open to any local woman racer who can manage that pace.
Dulwich Paragon male riders will go on the rides - either new racers who are also aiming to ride at that pace, as well as experienced racers who are there to control the pace and keep the group together.

The aim is to ride smoothly and keep a steady training pace.

Meet at Elmers End (outside the Skoda garage) at 7pm for a 7.15 kick-off out to Pole hill and back, with a finish in Crystal Palace. Ride time is around 1hr 45. A ride has been scheduled for tonight, with Bryan Taylor chaperoning. Use your discretion if it's pouring with rain though!

Anyway women racers or would-be racers are welcome to attend these. PM me if you have any further questions.

Bye for now,

Maria

why aye pet....

not that anyone really cares but... cos i currenlty dont,

i'm up here, Rolling out the new pension transformation program.. tecy stuff

So when you're all old and are getting the correct pension credits and state pension it will all be down to the wonderful people at Accenture... (I’m not included in that stamen as currently I’d rather be on my bike, can you retire at 25?, i think i have just invented a loop/ unfixable error   in the code)

intresting fact..NOT..., but the main trigger why the ugrade was needed was to accodate the baby boom inflx of retiring people now and in the next few years.

also at this point i;d like to point out that i am NOT a nurse, as many people for some reason think i am..

Does the 'state' actually have much chance of having any money left by the time I retire. The way they are spending at the moment I think we maybe seeing an increase in the retirement age to match the day you die.

Cheers

And Marek, who do you blame for that? The chickens came home to roost maybe, but then, I expect that before too long we'll see a return of the culture of bonus and greed among financial types that got us into this fine mess and it will only be ordinary folk that pay the price.
