Herne Hill track training (Rollapuluza CC) Sun 2 Aug

A mate of mine at Rollapaluza CC (the guys that run those roller races etc) is running a training session if anyone is interested (perhaps you can't make the usual Sat sessions?). Myself and a couple of MTB mates will be going along but he has a number of spare spaces so I said I would pass along.. do mail Rob if interested.

Ideal for those who haven't tried track riding, or riders who need to brush up on their basic track skills.

It was brilliant track last night and a few of these rolla chaps were there.

How did the Rolla pm session go then guys? Yesterdays's morning session was ok but not as good or hard as usual as John the instructor wasn't there, only did 55km whereas have done up to 75km with him. Very windy once again.

We finished with a 20 laps scratch race where our group had to catch a slower group half a lap ahead first. Once this was done I went for an early break hoping someone would join me, think this was about lap 5. Gained about 75m but no more and was on my own so carried on for about 6 laps until the bunch swamped me, I let about 10 go past then latched on, then about 5 attacked and I had to let them go, got into the wheel of a few chasers who brought them back fairly quickly, then it was through and off, the Rolla girl was so strong, I had to hide behind her while she was chasing, then managed to come through to close the gap with her, by the time it was my turn I had just about recovered, with a couple laps to go Simon Lewis and a strong guy who always beats me attacked and got a gap, there were three of us managing to chase, the Rolla girl once again pulling me along the last 150m before me doing a (guilty) Shadow impression to come 3rd. Enjoyed that.
