I decided to give a new course a try and rode the H10/17R on the A420 Kingston Bagpuize bypass on Saturday. The wind was even worse than the previous weekend but the good news was that there would be over a mile more with the wind than against it albeit all slightly uphill. The course itself is relatively flat consisting of a series of gentle gradients with a bit a bit more of a rise to the turn. The wind meant a fast ride out hitting 35 mph on the gentle downhill slopes but a bit of a struggle on the way back down to 18 mph on the same slopes. Ended up with a respectable 23:19 but I think a 22 is possible with a somewhat lighter westerly (an easterly would not be good).
