Marshalls needed - Open 10 29th August

Postby Phil H » Tue Jul 28, 2015 12:11 am

This is another Saturday afternoon event but on the G10/42 North Holmwood course - fewer roads, less chance of roadworks.

I'm looking for:

Baking: Sue Diamond
Canteen: Amy
Signing on: Bob Gilly
2x pushers: David Stott, Nicholas Wilson
1x marshall on the junction of Spook Hill with the A24: Andrew Francis
2x marshalls on Beare Green roundabout: Stefano Ruis, James Fyfe
1 x marshall, 1 x checker on Clarke's Green roundabout (the turn) Mark Mclaughlin, Virinder Sethi
Finish line spotter: Phil Nash
Finish line recorder (ideally someone with an Android phone and a sense of adventure)

In the past we've had an exclusive field - including a former Maillot Jaune wearer and a current pro rider. HQ is North Holmwood Village Hall - right near the start.

If you can help then it would be most appreciated. Post here or PM or mail timetrials@addiscombe.org

I emailed ACC General volunteering. In case you didn't get it, I can help. I was a pusher last time but happy to do anything

Phil,

Happy to help. Could you put me at the Spook Hill/A24 jct if no one else wants it?

I still need some more people for this. It's on the way back from the café and we do have a current professional rider entered. Also there are a number of ACC entries so we need your support to run this event.

Sorry Phil, can't help at this one; I'll be en-route back from a week in France that day.

And we need cake bakers!

If you are not coming out to volunteer you can help by baking though you will need to get your cake (tray bakes, sponge, flapjacks, brownies, biscuits, etc, etc...) to someone who's coming down. I will probably be in need of a lift myself as I'll be bringing all the kitchen stuff probably, not just my cakes. Don't be put off by the fickleness of the riders - I never know what they're going to like  And of course, bad weather means a smaller turnout ...

Hi Amy

Unable to marshall this time but could do some baking. I could do some cookies this time instead of cake for a change and possibly the chocolate flapjacks again? Let me know what you would like. I could get said items to someone on the Friday. :D

Make whatever you like, Sue - I'm just grateful :D Cookies sound good and the flapjacks are always popular with or without chocolate ;)

I might see if I can buy some chocolate drops and see how banana bread with chocolate goes down...

Thanks Sue (and Amy).

I'm still short of a few (see original post above). It is on the way back from the club run.

Anyone able to give me a lift out? Otherwise there won't be any tea or cake...

I need to be there from the off as it were as cyclists are always thirsty, especially the marshals

Thanks to Francis for helping with teas - it may be in the warm and dry but it's hard work!

And thanks to Pete for getting me down there :D
