2009 Richmond Park 3 Lap Challenge

I know all this training business makes us sound a bit serious but, well, some people really are into this bike lark so feel free to talk about all training & self improvement related topics in here

if only i'd read this earlier. i went yesterday. evening. jumped on the back of a paragon rider (who kept trying to shake me, mwhahahaha) and a bunch of dynamos (who dropped me after 3/4s of a lap) for a bit. i did 3 and a half laps in the end. quite nice really. it was pretty quiet in the evening i started to wonder whether the park had actually closed.

[quote="Sean Hogan - 何祥"] I might wear my new Giro top, which one though is a secret ;-)

It's more white kit isn't it :P .

As you're well aware I'm not a park-er but that sounds like a good time, well done mate. I think you should have a go at a 25 rather than the odd 10, I've always thought that it would suit you better with your style of riding/type of rider. There's a SCCU 25 at the beginning of September that would be a good one to have a go at. If you need a lift I'm sure I can help out.

I had a crack at this on Saturday.

Went anti-clockwise from a standing start by the rugby pitches. managed 59:38

Blimey it was hot , I had to lie down on the grass for about half an hour afterwards to cool off

good going sean, you'll soon be under the hour
I did a ONE lap challenge over there last week before work, full TT set up but without sperm hat-17.12,no way would have kept that up for three laps though...
Cheers

Good effort Sean, early morning will always guarantee a head wind in my 3 year experience. Try going for it late in the evening I thinks that when most of the best times are set.

Had a crack at this last night (starting about 7:15pm) and posted 59.35. Thought I'd gone off too slowly but actually my lap times got progressively slower after the first lap of 19:15.

There was a nagging headwind on the drag up to Richmond, and I got seriously held up by cars on the section between Robin Hood and Roehampton. But them's the breaks - it was all good fun and gives me something to chip away at.
