2/12/12 - Steady TG ride - Henfold Hill

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

When and where: 9.30am from CSS.

Pace: Steady TG pace.

Route: The idea is to include one of the race circuits that are within close proximity to our normal CR. I have chosen Henfold Hill race course this time. After a lap of the course there is the option of either;
1. heading back via the Boxhill CR route; or
2. the longer hillier option of carrying on further south and then heading back via East Grinstead and Oxted.

I will be doing option 2. See link below for more details of the full route.

Distance: Approx. 75 miles (for option 2).

Let me know if you are interested.

You can come and play with the old guys - Meet BETCHWORTH, approx 100 metres south of Knights Plant Centre 10.00am going to Balcombe, Weather permitting I will pass Nonna's around 9.15 - this is the faster of 2 groups and probably 70+ miles from Croydon

Thanks, its always good to have a nice hill at the end of the ride :).

I did some parts of the route today, and I don't like Cob nor Gibbs brook Lane, so I will change those to Burstowhill and Tandridge Lane. The distance will still be around 75 miles.

Take care on the lanes after a cold night. Chalkpit could be slippy as it tends to hold a damp surface.

Good ride out today, with only me and Ben out this time. There were a few ice patches here and there but nothing major.

Thanks for the company Ben.

Thanks for the tow round. Good route. There used to be a circuit round groombridge. Not used anymore but makes a good future ride.

"Ladie's Mile"? SERRL used it one race this year when the Edenbridge circuit was closed with roadworks.

Nope, Withyham goes through Hartfield & up Chuck Hatch. Ladies Mile is the short small triangle to the east of Withyham; Ladies Mile, B2188, Withyham Road.
