Sproutbuster Challenge 2 - Fri 28 Dec

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Well, 15 turned up which was pretty good for a rainy and misty day.

By 9:30, the rain was quite light, and the mist only affected the ride on the climb up Gangers and along the Ridge and Clarks Lane. After that, it was pretty much ok.

We had one person turn back at the Ridge due to time pressure (sorry didn't catch the name), Julian turned for home at the top of Titsey and Chris L and Andy F stopped at the cafe in Brasted, as both were feeling a bit leggy.

That left Alan, Bridget, Steve, Katie, Ben, Ant, Martin, Matt, Nick, Scott and me to make the destination at Four Elms. There were a couple of route changes to miss out the worst road surfaces and we cut out Ide as everyone wanted to make straight for the cafe, but overall we didn't lose any of the planned mileage and got back to CSS and Nonna Rossas for a 2nd well earned cafe stop, with just over 47 miles completed.

Nothing very fast today, but the road conditions meant it was best to take it easy.

Got up this morning and thought "Bollox. Raining again!! Don't really want to go." :( But, it turned out to be a good ride and the weather probably made it better, as it was one of those where it just gave the ride a little edge. :)

Anyhow, there were no punctures! :D And my day was complete in Nonnas when Nick said to me, "Well, Del. My sprouts are well and truly busted!!"

Thanks Del, it was a good ride and was also glad I went in the end :) Though personally I'd do without the added edge and go for dry roads and a sunny day!

Thanks Del for a good ride today. Weather turned out not to be too bad. Sorry for dropping off the back at towards the end - I'd obviously not had enough Sprouts!
