16s paced ride Sunday 13 January*

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Thinking of heading east to Coolings Garden Centre at Knockholt - anyone else? Weather's looking better for the Sunday than the Saturday. 9.30 at CSS.

*subject to whether I've found out why I've started rubbing my inner thigh on the seat clamp on the blue Roberts - last Sunday it wore through my longs, my shorts and a few layers of skin... Will see how cr goes on Saturday if out.

PS I may not always be available to lead so if anyone else wants to take turns leading, please let me know.

Yes, 9.30am at CSS - unless it's snowing or icy. Route can be shortened if necessary!

Marcus, if you are coming, don't be late - it's not the weather to be hanging around in for too long!!

Didn't seem as cold as I thought it was meant to be when I stepped out and rode to CSS but I felt I was more suitably dressed as we headed east...

Only myself, Belinda and Taz - no text from Marcus so presumably he wasn't allowed out on his bike - on the slower Sunday ride. Del's group soon disappeared out of sight as we followed them up Farthing - only to find them near Chaldon church sorting out a puncture. My rear tyre seemed to be behaving itself, having pumped it up with the track pump before I left home and then needing a top up with the frame pump just up the road in Wallington - maybe the threat of taking it back home and chucking it in the bin worked.

The cafe wasn't very well signposted from the Cudham side and I nearly missed it - sorry about the sudden stop. I knew it was somewhere along there but can never quite remember where. Taz was defeated by a huge cup of coffee and it ran out on him on the way back along the Pilgrims Way (we dropped down Star Hill after the cafe stop) so he turned off early to head back into Croydon - UP Titsey Hill from the church. Belinda and I continued down Titsey, through Limpsfield, Oxted and up Gangers before turning into the girls' school and back home.

Defrosting before heading into the shower...

For Belinda, Campyoldy - just doesn't seem to be any jumbles at Knockholt or Ripley this year advertised as yet.

Robin is doing a jumble at Steyning Centre at the end of the month, possibly the day after the dinner. I shall be riding down if the weather is suitable to get some good tempo miles in.

Thanks for letting Taz know Amy, fortunately I'm good to go and all goes to plan should be somewhere else in about a month.

Coolings is nice, good choice.

Ah, yes, just came up in conversation - good luck!

Yes, thought so - the Steyning jumble is on Campyoldy's list. Date listed is 26th.

Coolings could've been a little warmer - and I was a bit worried by the white dots on the floor under my chair and under the fake birds in the 'bird corner'

Might not be happening this week... Not just the weather but I'm starting a temp role sorting out six months of backlog at a (small) law library, full time as of Monday

Absolutely miles. Also being slower we need to allow a bit more time - not to mention waiting for Marcus to arrive at the start...

More seriously, I'm out of practice at this commuting to work lark and just want to make sure I'm all up and running BEFORE Monday morning. Mind you, I'm supposed to be going in for tomorrow afternoon - maybe I should put the studded tyres on the tourer - at the first flake of snow FCC should go into meltdown

Went swimming for the second Sunday morning in a row. Absolutely loving it. Think Eric the eel when he first got in to the pool, well I'm not yet that good :D
