Leith Hill MTB Sunday 5th May - CHANGED to local CSS ride

Postby ceejay » Fri May 03, 2013 12:49 pm

EDIT Sat 6.30pm - no takers this time so let's give it another shot in a few weeks
--------------

Been talking on the recent local MTB rides about a return to Leith Hill, this fine bank holiday weekend has to be a good time to do it. Meet at the bus shelter opposite Peaslake Village stores at 10.30 on Sunday. Easy pace, all welcome - please post here if you're planning to come along.

Is this ride going ahead, interested in joining in, still working on pass though, so need to know if to bother with more grovelling.
Did read somewhere that Peaslake is location for major orienteering comp Sat and Sunday , would it be better to head straight to Leith via Coldharbour or Lanslip car parks ?
Is the plan a xc ride or just a bit of fun on the hill trails.
If not anyone doing anything slow and localish.
Cheers Martin

,

Sorry, just x-posted as it looked like there were no takers. Based on what you say I'd be tempted to go down the slow and localish route - e.g. 10am from CSS for a couple of hours (Happy Valley, Reigate Hill, North Downs Way, Banstead Heath, etc). Sounds OK?

I was joined at CSS by Gordon from Sanderstead, who sometimes rode with Addiscombe MTBers 6/7 years ago and remembers some of the characters who are still around. Good 18.5 mile loop in sunny and bone dry conditions, refuel at Nona's and then up the road into town.
