Good CR today, following a week of rest after the Dragon Ride last Sunday. Bang tidy ride that was in the sunshine, and the Brecons were dead lush.
Emboldened by my Welsh exploits I headed off initially with a lively 20mph group, losing touch as they accelerated from the first roundabout and finally giving up as the Monty's Cafe traffic lights caught me on red. Caught and passed on the Reigate steps by the "Training" 19s, I then hooked up with Seth who offered to pace me back to in but a few more lights and my feeble efforts to hold his wheel put paid to that plan and we rode alone for a bit until caught by the Gentlemen's 19s. Stuck with them for a bit then fell off the back just before Rusper and continued to the cafe time trial style.
Brutal headwind saw my average down to 17.5mph by the time i rolled home.
