CR Thread

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Tell me about it Ant, I mean its almost as bad as these guys that are rocking up on their summer aero bikes with deep section wheels with no mudguards in February, I mean what is going on?

Cheers

I did have to laugh at the guy on the full tt bike who caught my 17s at Rusper. He was also demonstrating why bib longs are better than no bib - especially when wearing not much more than a vest and one other short-sleeved layer - nice gap at the back...

Oh and what about turning up in time to go with the group of your choice. Sorry, Cap'n, I stopped that guy in purple from joining onto the already oversized group and instead, him and mate were ripping your group apart by the looks of it.

My ride wasn't too bad - glad I went with the 17s. On the whole we worked well together - although I was accused of being bossy - what me?  Didn't struggle too badly even on the hills - getting back there... I hope

Well I think our 19s managed to to just about exactly 19.

Was a good group, we managed to push it a bit on the hills but stayed together or regrouped at the top.

Thanks All

Rode back on my lonesome as wanted to ease myself into it. Got to the church and noone caught me yet so waited and finished off with a sociable group up Merstham

Thanks to you too

Then I got home and did a bit of house hunting and destroyed the alloy on my car wheel

Thanks my curb!

I'll see you all in a few weeks

You did good, Amy!We've got to keep those group sizes down. His name's Paul BTW, his second time out, too strong for the 17s. Let's hope he gets there on time next week! We got in at average 17.5 mph, actually 18 mph moving time. A good group if a bit ragged at times! :D

Just a brief spin with the TG for me this week.

Serge had his Superman costume on under his ACC kit  , which he used to good effect when departing CSS like a rat up a drainpipe.

Good luck tomorrow Keith. Not sure I'll get out there to shout at you now, temp looks to be 0 for when I'd have to leave to ride out so will leave it 'til later when it's at least in the positives. Nice course, a bit rolling in the second half from Cowfold.

Headed to the coast today (http://app.strava.com/activities/42801144/embed/bdd216b2b38cc5df83adb33471b2461e8170b73a which involved part of the club run towards rusper. Was joined by some agreeables just after Newdigate and we had a most agreeable short VO2max effort in the woods past rusper golf club. Enjoyed the 'fireworks' - cheers!

Couldn't not ride another weekend, especially as the cooker's now back where it should be and no longer blocking access to my cycle kit, even with a slightly dodgy tum for some reason.

Good thing I did as there was a shortage of VCs and plenty of newbees out. So Tim lead them out and I rode at the back to ensure no one got lost off the back. Good crowd out including Pete with his lad Toby who was quite 2 feet taller than when I last remember seeing him out on a J4F. Was good to see another young lad out with his Dad giving it a go on a real 80s frame (the Dad that was). Kept altogether with an easy pace most of the way round but the hills were almost a bit too much for Mark, trying out the club run on a borrowed bike that was waaay to small for him - next time should be so much easier on one of Tim's bikes!!

At least you'll know how well they're going - no surprises later in the year

Great ride today (9 march). Nice small 20's group behaving really well and sharing the work load. Was nice to ride in a small group again.

Good ride back, did the lions share of the work but feel so much better now I've finally shaken the lingering cough I had :D

Although I got towed back by Jessica, I was quite pleased at how I was feeling on the bike in the 17s. Felt like I had some strength in the legs at last - even when dying up the last couple of climbs. Wasn't getting too dropped on the other climbs either  Just got to keep this up and maybe I'll make the 18s this year  All I can say, it's been too bl00dy long getting back from muscle weakness

Ooops  , meant to ask if anyone knows if Andrea and Roger got back ok? I thought Andrea had sorted out her front mudguard and was coming but later I learnt that she'd had a problem with her rear mudguard! Jessica and I did wait a bit and even rode back but I figured that they'd join up with the slower group that was still at the cafe.

Not many daft enough to meet up at CSS this morning - probably around 10 people.

In the end a good ride with Dan (who's going well) into a vicious headwind on the way down. No cafe stop as neither of us fancied coming back out into the cold after a brew.

I've had a hacking cough last couple of days otherwise I would've been very annoyed if the weather had been anything but pi$$ing down with rain. Just would've made me even more miserable than I am at present :(
