Boxing Day ride anyone? Options so far are slow and fast :)

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Boxing Day ride anyone? Options so far are slow and fast :)

Hi folks

Current forecast for Sunday looking quite good. Clear and cold. I'm planning a social ride for Boxing Day. Mix of on and off road.

Likely route:

Meet at Purley (outside Tesco?) road up towards Oaks Park join bridleways towards Banstead. Head up to and over Epsom Downs and across trails towards Walton. Across more trails and bridleways and farmland around the back of Banstead (nice downhill section through the woods) then up into Banstead village and back towards Coulsdon/Purley/Croydon wherever.

Leisurely pace suit mtbs and cross bikes.

Arrive Tesco Purley at 10am for a 10.15 prompt departure. I'm guessing the ride will take around two and a half hours. I doubt there will be a place to stop for refreshment en route unless (v slim chance) we come across a friendly pub on the back half of the ride.

If you fancy this please let me know. If I get no takers then I reserve the right to stay home, watch more crap dvds and eat more cake.

Cheers - Snoop

good response for the fast boys. So far me and a maybe from Marcus on the slow soft tyres option.

I will check this thread again at 9am on Boxing Day and if it's still as is then I'll do the ride will just start from home to avoid a detour and wait at Purley. Hope that's OK with y'all. Ho ho ho!

I may be joining you.

The Boxing Day race at Hillingdon (hangover racing has been a tradition for the last 3 years) has been cancelled :-(
