Saturday 29 September Lost world ride

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Saturday 29 September Lost world ride

Postby Alan M » Wed Sep 19, 2012 5:08 pm

I am planning to lead the 'sportive ride' that we cancelled due to lack of participants as a FREE RIDE during the normal club run. I am making it known to Addiscombe club members and guests, for example all those who entered the sportive but were disappointed. We'll leave Coulsdon South Station shortly after 9am. Remember this is a moderately tough ride of around 75 miles and 6000 feet of the most delightful lanes and countryside in their late summer glory. Pete designed the ride and Andrew has kindly produced a map enabling you to follow detailed directions or you can download the garmin route here. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/150219901.This will allow for independent travel if there are groups that want to do it at their own speed - so an audax/club ride format I guess. I will pitch my ride around the 16/17mph mark, so steady. Because of the somewhat extended distance you will need to bring sufficient food and drink to get you to the the cafe which is close to Hartfileld on mile 46, the junction turning right from the B2110 onto the Edenbridge Road B2026. I hope as many of you as possible join in with all or part of this ride and get to enjoy the fine course that Pete selected for us. Many thanks, Alan

Me and Tom want to have a go. I'm happier to lead a slightly slower contingent - once I've got the route worked out.

Would like to give it a go too - so glad we go down York's Hill  Slower sounds better for me - it's not so much the speed as the hills... Definitely slow on them :(

As Alan has said he will have copies of maps, but should you wish to sort your own crib sheet or download to a gps then here is the link to the map (route card on "cue sheet" tab, gps download on "summary" tab).
