BRIGHTON AND BACK this SATURDAY 29th June

Brighton here we come! The second of this year's Cyclotastic Captain's Coastals is coming up - Saturday 29th June 2013. Normal CR to Charlwood abandoned for the day.

Wear ACC kit, bring money, camera, spare inner tubes, snacks etc.

Lunch at the Regency as usual!Free cake at Nonna's! :D :D

Don't forget if you can't join us for the trip to Brighton you can always come along as far as Turners Hill - have a coffee at the Crown - and make your own way home. It's about the same distance as the normal CR. And of course, there is no compulsion to do the there and back - many ride to Brighton but take the train back.

Guru special "Magical mystery tour" Paul T will lead a group to Brighton down the quietest country lanes he could find (well, to Ditchling anyway, not much we can do after that). This is open for riders that can ride with the 16s or above - faster riders will have to slow down!
Leaving CSS around 8:45 am it will probably take 3 - 3 1/2 hours……in Addiscombe kit!!

Anyway, whatever you decide...

Be there or be square and happy cycling.

The Captain 8)

Meet CSS - leaving times as follows:

15 mph 8.15
16 mph 8.30
17 mph 8.45
18 mph 9.00
19 mph 9.15
20 mph 9.30

I'll be heading out on the usual CR as I have a bit of saddle soreness and don't fancy a long ride in pain. At least I can cut my ride short if I need to. :(

I won't ask.  Why not ride down to Turner's Hill with us and see how you feel. It's the same distance as the CR.

Funnily enough, the only wrong turn I called (or, rather, failed to call) was on the reverse CR section.

I punctured 100m from home (on the way back). There's a thing.

It's days like these that make riding in the cold and dark worthwhile. The combination of route, weather and company made for a perfect ride down with John and the 15's. The ride home took more of an effort to coax body and mind into action but with a steady tempo set by Phil and Tom and the ceaseless encouragement from Jessica it provided to be a successful, albeit knackering one.

Many thanks to one an all.
