Anybody want to meet up for a pre-AGM drink - maybe a meal too?

Last year we were in Builders Arms in Leslie Park Road, a short walk away from the AGM venue.

Back to the point.

The AGM is where you, the members, get to vote on the running of the club. I realise that it might not be the most exciting hour or two to spend but it is key that members turn out to cast their votes. This could be a crucial year.

Otherwise we may end up with the official kit being panda onesies.

So has everyone made arrangements to be there?

An optional drink beforehand, the chance to catch up with fellow club members, and then the opportunity to choose Club President from a shortlist of two.

Sounds better than a typical December Wednesday evening in front of the TV.

What time folks getting there? I'll probably come straight from work and grab a bite to eat at Miso beforehand.

It was great to see so many committed ACC members turn up to the pub.

32 attended (with 7 apologies for absence). Not sure what record you're going for there Jon?

Some headline points from last night.

  • Phil Hawkes is General Secretary.

  • Nobody stood forward to run the club evening TTs.

  • Joyce was re-elected Club President.

  • The role of Chair of the Committee was left open (previously president & chair considered a combined post) with the expectation that the committee resolve this when they next meet.

  • The proposed rule amendment that President / Chair of the Committee should be for a maximum of 3 consecutive years was defeated.

Slight amendment Keith: Tim and Phil N are jointly running the club TTs (many thanks to them).

As a member of the Addiscombe Cycling Club I'd like to thank everyone who did something for the club last year, be that perform one of the many official rôles, partake in marshalling duties, etc.

Such a shame that it's the same people stepping forward to do even more in addition to all the other things they do for the club.

Where are the new volunteers offering to do something for their club and fellow members?

The Take Society.
