Chain Gang 9 May 2013

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Chain Gang 9 May 2013

Postby Iliya » Mon May 06, 2013 10:16 am

Surrey League handicap is cancelled this week due to road works so a few of us will be doing chain gang instead. For those who have not done this ride before this is mostly through and off TG pace ride from CSS down A23 to Gatwick, along dual carriageway around the airport and back. It takes about 1h 20min.

Details:

When: Thursday, 9 May 2013, 19:00, ETA back to Coulsdon 20:30.
Where: CSS
Pace: Training ride
Dress code: ACC kit

Please also make sure you have front and rear lights as it might get dark by the time we get back to Coulsdon.

Is this still on? With the 26mph headwind going down and rain, I thought I had better double check!

I may give this a go if it is on. If I get dropped I'll have my phone with maps on me!

A few keen cyclists have informed me they are planning to ride tonight so this is still on. You probably won't need map, its straight down a d then up A23 but I reckon you'll be able to hang on.

Head wind on the way out means tail wind on the way back. :)

Just been outside to get coffee. Wind feels more from the West so maybe the deep-section wheels aren't a good choice. Good luck.

I don't have that problem, I don't have deep section wheels (yet) :(

Sorry guys, gonna swerve this one. Too windy and the rain is coming. Disappointed as was looking forward to chain ganging down to Gatwick and back :(

Same as Steve and also its my rest day today and tomorrow.

Be careful guys, its very very gusty and add the rain into the mix and your looking at dodgy riding conditions.

Dodgy riding conditions indeed but three of us (Dan and Matt) turned up and did full CG including DC. Luckily it didn't rain hard but the wind was blowing from all directions. Looking forward to Saturday and hoping for some nicer riding conditions.
