i must have missed the 18's somewhere, i thought they would be going down pebble hill about 930, which way did you guys go from the tadworth roundabout just so i know for next time? i saw some ACC riders in langley vale a couple of weeks ago do u go that way instead and then onto leatherhead passing boxhill up to the hen roundabout at dorking then onto brockham that way?
Shame you missed us Nick. Just 2 others joined me for this nice route out. We headed up Chipstead Valley, wiggle off for a cut through Walton-on-the-hill rather than just straight down the main road, then drop down Pebblehill Rd. Would have been later than half past as we were a bit late leaving. At the RAB at the bottom of Pebble it's straight over the RAB and then right and fork left to Brockham through the lanes, no A25 bashing.
I had a great ride today, just a shame there was so little in the way of takers, good job the voices in my head keep me company.
It was quality rather than quantity though as I left CSS with Jon CC and we picked up Colin just down the road. A thoroughly agreeable pair with me for the Chipstead/Brockham/Parkgate route and we had a nice ride down these lovely lanes. The ones leading in to Brockham and then Old School Lane (with an old teacher alongside me

) are beautiful even on a "riding in a cloud" day like today.
After Parkgate and the long ride up Partridge, from the other side to the "normal" club run, Jon and Colin turned left for the Pine cafe and meet up with others.
For my ride I now added quantity, a few extra miles, to the quality, great lanes. Carried on through Rusper and climbed up to Colgate and then along one of my favourite roads in the area, Grouse Rd becoming Hammerpond Rd. This is a smashing country lane with hardly any traffic which has nice views across the fields on both sides and then meanders through the woods just before the Mannings Heath golf course.
At the turn for Doomsday Green I headed in the opposite direction for North Horsham and then the steepish climb back up to Rusper. As I wasn't having to worry about sating anyone elses appetite I decided to give a cafe stop a miss and just popped in to the Rusper Stores for a tasty homemade sausage roll. A run back down to Newdigate and over towards Box Hill but gave the overly familiar to the point of being a bit boring now Zig Zag a miss in favour of the longer, scenic climb up to Headley. Unless you want to set a PB up Box Hill then Box Hill return groups should do this climb (longer but gradual) instead sometimes as it's a very nice road.
Back through Kingswood and waved to Phil as he was leaving Nona's and home for lunch with a very enjoyable 75 miles in the legs.
The revised route to Charlwood I've been using is in the Routes section - here
