I was hoping to go to Lullingstone because I haven't been that way for ages and I've not actually been to the castle tea rooms. Instead the alternativistas went to Four Elms to a new cafe - and it was a very nice cafe, indeed

Obviously a good one because, as well as us lot, the Redhill lot and the Clarencourt rolled up - fortunately we managed to do it in shifts

The Redhill were just leaving as we got there and we nearly finished when the Clarencourt arrived! The cafe must have made more money that morning than it had the entire week
Very pleasant ride over Farthing Downs, then through Caterham-on-the-Hill and through Marden Park. Up Gangers and along the Pilgrims Way, then the climb up from Sundridge and down Ide Hill to the cafe (and garden centre, tack shop and pet supplies!). More pleasant lanes back via the top of Edenbridge, Oxted and then up Tilburstow Hill, through Bletchingley and up Whitehill and down Spring Bottom lane then
up again to Chaldon before the final drop back down Farthing.
A very good turn out for the alternative club run with about 18 of us - I think we lost one who then arrived with the Clarencourt which is his other club. And I was riding well for a change
Thanks, Pete
