Sunday CR 30 Sep

On road, off road, round in a big circle or down to the coast, we do the lot. We don't just do it at all speeds and for all levels, we do it Agreeably as well!

Sunday CR 30 Sep

I'm hoping to be out on Sunday, but there is a little doubt as I've been nursing a saddle sore!  :(

I'm going to take the hopefully healed sore with me on Alan's lost worlds ride tomorrow, so all being well, I'll be fine and will see you all at CSS at 09:30 on Sunday.

If not, then you'll all have to make a route up on the day, while I find somewhere comfortable to sit at home!!

Hope to see you there. I really do! :D

See you in the morning Del, assuming your 'arris is okay. If not then I can lead something if required/desired.

So, it was going to be a gentle recovery ride today after 85 miles and nearly 7000 feet of climbing yesterday.

That was until Mr  decided to gently wind up the pace, which reached impressive levels as we came over Headley Heath, down to the Leatherhead by-pass and on down the A24 to Dorking.

The bonus climb to Ranmore shook out any of the stiffness in the legs from yesterday, but the fast descent to Dorking was enjoyable as usual.

Some dithering by a few of us in Dorking meant that we got split into 2 groups. I think half the group went up to Coldharbour, but Katie, Julian, Murray and me, plus the Croydon Cycling campaign guy whose name I can't remember (sorry, crap with names as ever) took a reverse club run route home - enough hills for 1 weekend!

Still a good blast, and a belated thanks to Andrew for knocking yesterday out of my legs! :D

Sorry Del and anyone else  , feel free to shout at me if it got a bit quick. I haven't been around there for months and with all the rain and roadside bushes growing like mad I missed the turning down Headley Rd as planned, doh!

Carried on for a bit and dropped down on to the A24 by a nice smooth descent, for a bit of a bash back to Ranmore. Up Ranmore and a couple said they were going to turn back after the descent to Dorking as they had to get back early. After the descent a regroup and a bit of confusion, I called off we go and saw people behind me and thought we were all as one, bar those going home, but as we rode along to the bottom of Coldharbour I noticed that we were now down to just Tony, Rich, Richard, Ben, Steve and myself. We eased up to the base and then climbed up to regroup at the top waiting for the others if they came.

No-one arrived for a bit and then Steve arrived, having waited further back, having waited for the rest but not seen them. He left a message for Katie that we'd see them at Henfold Lakes and we headed off for the nice drop down to Ockley. Good fun including a bit of saddle clenching by Rich as we went in to a tight wet bend but he held it up well.

A bit of a bash back to Beare Green and then through to Newdigate where Tony and Rich headed back to beat the clock via a CR reverse. Richard, Ben, Steve and myself stopped off at Henfold for a nice cake and tea/coffee/chocolate. Steve had now found out that the others had returned so we headed back via Box Hill.

First time I've been up Box Hill since the resurfacing, wow it is nice now, and then a fast charge back to Coulsdon.

Sorry to folk for the mix up. I had a very enjoyable ride with some nice blasting along after Coldharbour, a couple of hills, and some good fun chat and general piss-taking of each other. Thanks a lot guys.

No problem, Andrew.

It was a good pace, and loosened the legs up more then just rolling along.

We thought you'd all headed up Coldharbour, and the split was as much our fault as yours.

By then, I think the 5 of us were just happy to head back home, although we were still moving at a fair pace all the way back to Reigate! :D

You'll have to do one of your Kent loops with the Sunday CR soon. I fancy a bit of hill climbing up and down Toys, Ide and Puddledock!
