Brighton here we come! The first of this year's Cyclotastic Captain's Coastals is coming up - Saturday 18th May 2013. Normal CR to Charlwood abandoned for the day.

Wear ACC kit, bring money, camera, spare inner tubes, snacks etc.

Lunch at the Regency as usual!

Don't forget if you can't join us for the trip to Brighton you can always come along as far as Turners Hill - have a coffee at the Crown - and make your own way home. It's about the same distance as the normal CR. And of course, there is no compulsion to do the there and back - many ride to Brighton but take the train back.

Anyway, whatever you decide...

Be there or be square and happy cycling.

The Captain 8)

Meet CSS - leaving times as follows:

15 mph 8.15
16 mph 8.30
17 mph 8.45
18 mph 9.00
19 mph 9.15
20 mph 9.30

Hi Keith

I'm pretty certain I sent out details earlier in the year of all the Brighton Captain Coastals. But probably a good idea to post them here. I'll get on to it.

Cheers

I have no idea what group to go in! The last time I did Brighton and back I was in the 15 mph group but hopfully I should be able to go faster!

What times are people going, just so I can get idea's?

You could take it conservatively on the way down - say 17/18 and then if you feel fit go back with the fast guys. Because faster groups go off later (reverse of the normal CR) there's no group to drop back to if the pace is a bit high. Next time you can step up if that's too slow.

Thanks, I think I'll go in the middle and go with the 18's; I haven't done over 60 miles in a while! Lets just hope that rain holds back!

I've just checked the Met Office and the forecast is for light rain in the afternoon in Brighton. Watch this space for developments - if the weather is bad we will have to cancel but I don't mind a bit of light rain.

I'm keen, hopefully the rain will keep away, will aim for my normal speed so 16 at 8.30am. My first Brighton ride with ACC.

When do you make a call on the weather? On the day? It's not much of a difference in time so can always just have another espresso if needed!
Cheers
