[quote="Andrew G"]Unfortunately the weather forecast looks terrible, starting out light rain just getting heavier as the day goes on. If this stays then I'll cancel the ride as it's a nice social ride and it ain't fun if it's wet and getting wetter. I'll check the forecast again tomorrow and post a definite cancel if it is.
Yes, I was looking at the forecast and seriously thinking of wussing out. Glad I got out today all though a slow puncture that stopped me at Juniper Hall meant it was a bit shorter than intended, though a old friend went past just as I was finishing and we had lunch at Ashtead. Also good job I went out as I came across a cyclist near between Kingswood and Walton on the Hill who looked about to throw his bike into a ditch and trash it... Helped him get the chain back on and lent him my pump to get the back tyre up to a decent pressure. Then he asks "aren't you in the Addiscombe?" "Yes" "You're Amy, aren't you?" Oh God, infamy

Anyway, Ian, hope you got back OK without any further trouble. I'll try and recognise/remember name next time I see you on the club run.
[quote="AndrewG"]My suggested alternative is to use tomorrow to go to Waitrose and get some nice beer in (they do a great selection of bottled ales) and a pie. Then on NYE you can put the pie in the oven, do an hour on the turbo, then open your beer and enjoy it with your pie.
beer? turbo?? Mind you, I do need to get some shopping from Waitrose so maybe a pie will do.
